Contraceptive weight gain.

Hiya,
Sorry if this doesn’t belong here, very rusty in the ways of threads these days.
About 3.5 years ago I went on the pill, GP was worried at the rapid weight gained caused and swapped to a different one, same again and was put onto a 3rd pill. By the end of it I’d gained 65lbs and had constant bleeding just over 6 months.

I had a boy a month ago and we don’t want anymore babies (have a girl and now boy), I don’t want the pill again unless I have to, implants are out of the question where I have the side effects and don’t want to risk it poking out the sides, but was wondering if anyone has experience with the injections or if it’s just the same as pill just being stabbed?

Any help greatly appreciated.

(Don’t have 6-8 week appointment yet because I was told when tried to book one they will set one up for me at the time)

Thanks very much.

Have you thought of the Mirena? I’ve had one for 5 years and liked it so much I’ve had it replaced. I did have spotting for a few weeks at the beginning after both were fitted but it’s honestly been brilliant not having to think about contraception every day.
