I lost my mum back in May this year.
I wasn't close to my brother and his wife,( I only have 1 brother).
He was named in the will as an executor along with his 31 yr old daughter. My mum had Alzheimer's for 3 years before she passed away. Mum had savings and her own home that was sold by my brother to pay for her care. I do know what he sold it for but have been given no info what's so ever about anything including the funeral and arrangements (that time has gone now), iv had to struggle with everything to do with it he won't tell me anything, he did all the jobs he needed to do and then gave it to a solicitor saying hes done everything but didn't want the responsibility of paying out the estate, so i knew there was more to the story than met the eye, so i decided to as the solicitor a bit about my mum's estate first she couldn't tell me anything but did say the my brother has a huge chunk of the estate because of his wife?! I wrote my brother a letter telling him everything i really felt about it all, said i wouldn't be in touch ever again. So the solicitor had either asked my brother if i could have a copy of the will because 24 hrs after getting her letter saying she could tell me nothing i got a very different letter saying that pleased to send a copy of the will and what i may get. I don't know where anything has gone that mum had my brother did it all, so anything from the house he's has all her jewelry etc, i have had nothing and would never ask him for something of mum's. I found out that he was to inherit 75% of the money left his daughter will get 15% and i will get 10%! It's really not about the money, but ive been so hurt by it all I'm done....he told me mum left her wedding ring and another ring to me, i asked him to post them and nothing.....what to i do now? he's made me look like some kind of scrounger keep having to ask. He went out and brought a new Range Rover top spec before the funeral to show off in, and i don't know what the estate is worth but i now am thinking mum had a life insurance, because there's to much money going to be going out to me him and his daughter. Mine maybe in trust and that means they can do anything with it, i want him if it's in trust to release it for me, but have no idea what i'm going to say to him, even though i get the smallest amount I'm still looking at getting many thousand of pounds, just how am i supposed to get through to him, as we are not talking at all, what advice would you give me to do over all this help!!!!
