New turf dying

Just cut new turf after 4 weeks but it has gone really patchy and brown. Think I've cut it too short. It was too long but really lush. Now I think I've ruined it. What can I do apart from just watering it.

We are in the middle of a sustained period of no rain.
All grass is looking parched and yellow or brown. It will right itself in the Autumn, or when we get a sustained period of rain next.
