Advice about a move

Hi - I'm looking to move North to Stoke-on-Trent area (possibly Sneyd Green or Kidsgrove) as I can afford a house there. I am not familiar with the areas - everything will be new to me - so would anyone have any advice about local facilities, shops, etc?? Is it a nice place to live? Also, places to avoid - if there are any. I'm semi-retired so there won't be any children moving with me - however, my first grandchild is due at the end of August and I hope to be very much involved. Thanks in anticipation for your time.

Hello, sorry, this is my first post and it seems I have some issues, because it keeps asking me to log in.
Hello, I am thinking about moving from Durham to Stirling and I am wondering if anyone could give some advice.
Is it a nice place to live? How about houses there? And places to do a bit of shopping?
Any tips would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Sandra

Hi @Chrissie2018 and @SandrainDurham and welcome to MN! Newbies' Corner is a bit hit-and-miss for traffic. You might get more replies if you post (separate) threads in chat including the areas you're planning to move to in the title.

There is also a section called Mumsnet Local you could try.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/local

Best of luck with your relocation plans.

Hello everybody. This is my first post. I am moving from Leeds to Chorley and I am wondering if anyone could give some advice.
We are new in Uk since last December.
How about houses there? And schools?, I have a 4 year old daughter that will be starting on September .
Someone knows for short rentals ( for a month o two) while we are looking for a house. WE must move ahead.
Any tips would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
Regards,
Alejandra.

Hello @alepatritti Smile. Like the previous posters, you might get more responses if you post a new thread with 'Chorley' in the title. My response will bump the thread for you, anyway. Best of luck with the move.
