Hi, I hope its alright for a Yank to be here! I thought I'd join up from Michigan U.S.A. as this looks like a very interesting place! I'm a mom to 2 adult kids and a 14-year-old son who has high functioning autism and I am very active in helping raise our 5 grandchildren ages 7 yrs to 6 months old. I hope to find those interested in the same things as I am.

Welcome! Yep, I'm pretty sure it's fine for an American to post here, LOL! You won't be the only one. I'm a British ex-pat, living in Canada for >10 years. My kids are late teens, with one having just finished their first year of university and the other is in grade 9. What sorts of things are you interested in? Seems like there are are boards here for most interests/topics but AIBU is the one with the most entertaining threads, as long as you don't take things too seriously

Hi @meterr and welcome to Mumsnet. I've met many American posters on MN so I am sure you'll fit right in. There are boards here for every interest under the sun, so have a look round. My personal favourite interest boards are The Litter Tray (lots of kitten pictures) and The Dog House (great for entertaining dog-related chat). I agree with the PP that AIBU is very entertaining .
