Hi..I am new. I have questions regarding my newborn baby's illness. He is 17 days old. I gave birth at 36weeks. After birth the doctor said that he had infection though the reason was unknown.he was given antibiotics for 10days but still the wbc and CRP are high. I m worried for my baby. Plz help me if anyone knows anything about it.

Hello, I’m new to mumsnet...I have a 23 month old son and I’m glad to be here.

Hi newbies! Hope you find Mumsnet to be a useful and interesting place to hang out. Few tips for you, hope you don’t mind - I don’t want to be patronising but I wish someone had told me when o first joined...!

Don’t be put off by some posters forthright style - there’s not always a lot of fluffiness here, but it’s like talking to your nan or your aunty - they want the best for you but they don’t beat around the bush!

If you post in AIBU (am I being unreasonable) you need a thick skin and a sense of humour. They don’t hold their punches on there.

Don’t post on zombie threads (if you search for a question and someone asked it a few years ago don’t add onto that thread, start your own.)

And @Jayee87 I’d speak to your GP or health visitor - MN is ok for basic health questions but infections in newborns need attention ASAP not diagnosing on the internet - hope he’s ok xx

Hi! I just signed up. I am a single momma of 2 girls nearly 13 and almost 4 years. Divorce was granted a little over a year and a half ago. I am having trouble adjusting to working as I was a stay at home mom for 6 out of 8 years. Now being the only income to support my family is difficult mentally, emotionally and financially as we went from almost a $7,000 income to barely $2,000 after being together for 8 years. I receive no child support or alimony at this time as he is incarcerated. No, I will not say why.
