Hi all, I am new to this site and wanted to share some positive vibes! I have been on and off depo proveva for approx 10 years. When me and my other half decided to start trying for a baby I stupidly googled 'trying to conceive after depo'. WHAT A MISTAKE! I would lay there night after night reading through horror story after horror story and eventually I had concluded that I may never get pregnant.
My cycle returned but was never consistent. I suffered with menopausal type symptoms for months - weight gain, night sweats, mood swings, tiredness, insomnia and I remember the lowest point crying and telling my other half that I would soon have the injection to relieve what I was going through. He convinced me against the idea and thank goodness he did! Here I am 6 months later and 10 weeks pregnant
Whilst I understand that all experiences after depo are different please do not feel disheartened by the negative threads on the net and focus your energy on eating well and looking after yourself. Rid your body of those artificial hormones by telling yourself daily that you are detoxing and try and stay positive. Lots of water, a balanced diet, fresh air and lots of laughter worked wonders for me and my body!
For all you girls who have yet to see your monthly cycle return, although it's easier said than done, be patient. I fell pregnant the first month I noticed signs of ovulation.
Lots of luck to all you post depo mums to be and don't feel disheartened by all the negativity out there x
