My RLS used to start every evening when I sat down. I found that if I kept my back straight, instead of the usual slouch, the RLS would not start. I don't mean bending your back into a hollow, because that won't work and you could not hold it like that for long anyhow. What you want is a comfortable, straight back. Your chair must be comfortable and HIGH enough so that your thighs are level and in contact with the seat of the chair. The effect seems to be cumulative and through not having RLS in the evening seems to be helping when I go to bed as well.
