Hello everyone ..I joined mumsnet because everytime I Googled health worries I got a link to here and you seemed such lovely people.
I'm 49 and for the last 5 years I believe I'm in perimenopause from the symptoms and what I've read. My gp of course won't agree they are stuck in the dark ages and I thought I was going insane and falling apart.
My list of illnesses is too boring to mention but I've not been well for 5 years. My worst part is the insomnia and depression with social anxiety. I won't go anywhere new or with other people other than family I'm down miserable and every night I don't get to sleep until 3 or 4am. As you can imagine I've tried everything from diet herbal route medication cbt hypnosis you name it nothing works. I've actually got DSPD classed as a genuine disability but not in uk ( delayed sleep onset disorder) there's no cure but I'm sure mine is hormone and anxiety driven.
So sorry to rattle on but I wondered if anyone has taken hrt and found it has helped with getting to sleep. I know it helps with flushes and people who wake early but that's not my problem it's getting to sleep.

I've a prescription for bio identical hrt but I'm scared to take it as I just couldn't take more side effects ontop of the I'll health I have.
Thank you for reading this
