Kent 11+ result

Hello,

Please I need your advice.

I got my son's kent 11+ result yesterday but he narrowly missed by 3points in English. He got 114 in Maths, English 103 and reasoning 124 making a total of 341 but to be selective, total score should be no less than 320 and not below 106 in each of the 3 areas.

I'll like to appeal and any advise would be most appreciated. This is all new to me but I want to see his head teacher to discuss if she can possibly support my appeal. I understand this is highly competitive.

We live in London, so not in the Kent catchment but should I still add the Dartford Grammar in the CAF form?

Although we are planning on moving to Dartford in the new year, I'm not sure if this is of any benefit to him getting in.

In the mean time I'm including other mainstream schools in CAF form. Please I'll appreciate any recommended tutor in Southwark for math, English and science.

Thank you for your assistance.

what would be the basis of the appeal? From what I've seen of the tests, the answers are pretty binary - you are either right or wrong. There is the Headteachers assessment, but this is done by the school's head without parents involvement before you get the results. It's also too late to request a Reasonable Adjustment, as this needed to be done before the test.

Maybe others have more to add, but I'm under the impression that there is little you can do.

For out of area he would need a higher score to get in than those in area, though this may only be for the super selectives. DD1 got in to a super selective on 365 two years ago, in area, but for the OOO places they had to get something like 400.

Tiffany on here is extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Thanks. I doubt I have any basis. I'm new to this my self and I don't think his HT put in an appeal on his behalf. I may just have to leave it but I'll speak to his HT too to know her thoughts. Thanks again.
