Hey mummys.
I started combi feeding my baby at 2 weeks. He is now 3 months and now the stress of a new born baby has calmed down I am dying to get back into breastfeeding again (EDB) if I can.. I know might not be possible but at least replacing a lot of bottle feeds because he's not at the point where he prefers a bottle and rarely feeds from me unless it's at night and I'm dying to get him to feed again. I have ordered some slow teats for my mam botttles. But I want to know if this is even possible? Or once your supply goes down you can't get it back 😒 Thanks xxx

Yes you absolutely can get it back. Lots of skin to skin...be bed bound for a few days if possible and keep latching even if it's only for a few minutes an hour. How much are you bf at the moment?

Search kellymom relactating for some more info

Also eating oat rich foods such as porridge, flapjack etc can help with increasing your supply. If you look on Pinterest there are lots of recipes for lactation cookies. There is also a natural herbal supplement called Fenugreek which can help. It's available from health food shops.
The reason he's preferring the bottle, is it's easier for him but I'm sure he'll soon be happy to have mum's milk again.
Good luck Smile

Thankyou ladies.

I am breastfeeding only during the night and when he wakes up he seems hungry Sad when he is due a feed I try and put him on me, well I try and encourage him all throughout the day really and he just cries ! It's really sad. Now I've got into more of a routine I just really want to breastfeed again I miss it so much! I'm worrying I will never get my supply back because I had so much in the beginning! I'm regretting combi x

Ok, yes you can boost your supply again. Pays and fenugreek are excellent. Do you have a pump? I would recommend pumping regularly as well as feeding, as this will help to increase supply. And You can feeze any milk You pump for a later date.
I would try seeing if you can find a breastfeeding support group who would be able to help you or put you in contact with someone who can.
You have put this in newbies corner, I'm fairly sure you would get lots more excellent advice in the breastfeeding topic, it might be worth reporting it and along mn to move it for you.
Good luck

I think its called infant feeding

Can you search Facebook for local breastfeeding groups? Very often they will have groups around where you can just go and ask for advice.

You can also get something called an sns or supplementary nursing system. It gives baby formula/expressed milk via a tube whilst they latch onto you.
