Episiotomy help
user1485211207 · 23/01/2017 22:52
Had my son 14 December. Had episiotomy :(! When stitches checked by midwife she said all healing well however was open on the surface but the muscle etc had healed. I didn't look for the first two weeks however when I did I was so upset, it looked wide open to me however midwife said she wasn't concerned and had seen lots worse heal naturally. I went to the gp for second opinion and was told the same.
I'm in absolute agony ..feels like a constant tight stingy feeling.. Almost as if it's nearer to my bum than vagina (guessing that's coming from the bottom of the cut that's healing) sick of taking ibuprofen and paracetamol constantly which only takes the edge off
I truly feel down, keep having a cry, feel like I'll never heal up and be out of pain. Can't contemplate ever having sex again and feel like my time with my baby is being robbed and shadowed
Anyone had to deal with the wound healing naturally
Been told they can't even give an approx time Frame for healing
Any advice at all xx

Poor you OP
Wiser people will be along soon but I had an episiotomy and absolutely zero pain etc from the stitches after the initial couple of days. Your pain doesn't sound right to me - I would go back to GP.

I really suffered after mine. Was worth than birth! A doctor cauterised it at my 8 week check and then it got better.

I had the same and was in so much pain up to 3 months after... eventually after demanding a specialist I was told my wound over granulated which left a raw bit of skin exposed hence the pain and stinging. Steroid cream worked for me in the end and took 2 weeks to heal!! I hope your okay now though and I know how awful it is to go through this!!! Us women are strong!!!!
