Pre prep choice please help

Dear Parents,
I have almost 4 year old, we considering two schools for him Orley farm ( which is the closest, nice school ) and York house ( which is 25/30m drive).

I'm a little bit worried that York house ( although a better school to me) is a bit out of the way, will my child have friends coming to his house for a play date ? We live in Pinner area and I'm not sure how many children from our location go to York house. Please share your experiences. I know it's all subjective but still I would be most greatful if you could share your thoughts of the subject. Thank you very much !

I think it would make more sense to send your son to the closest school but personally I'd make the decision based on what school suited my child more, you could ask the school if there was any parent associations where you could meet people near you or set up a weekly meeting that you all could attend to be social and let the kids play. Theres no guarantee that your child would make friends with the kids from your area so you will still end up having long distance play dates, do what is right for your child regardless of what/where everyone else is going to school. I'm sorry I can't be of anymore help but I'm nowhere near your situation yet as I don't have kids, but I'm sure what ever you decide will be right for your family.

I'm so sorry I just saw your reply, I'm very inexperienced in using his website. Thank you ... yes I guess the closest makes more sense. But the other one I feel suits him more ... very difficult for me to decide.. thank you once again !

In that part of London have you considered where you will want him to go afterwards, MT / HABS / Harrow / John Lyon / state? Where you send at pre-prep can have an influence on final destinations...

Good point did not think that far ahead .. MT or Habs would be preferred but it depends how will he develop I guess ... thank you very much
