My Muslim neighbour has had a new baby. Should get anything?

They are Afghan refugees and have lived next door for a couple of years now. The mum doesn’t speak any English, and I don’t often see her outside the house, but as our kitchen windows face each other we wave often. Today I saw her with a new baby!

We exchange Christmas and Eid cards and say hello and chat with the husband and children when we see each other. Should I drop off a card or is there something more traditional or appropriate? I want to be mindful of her faith and traditions. Thank you.

Just normal card and gift like baby outfit would be fine. Box of chocolates vegetarian to say congratulations!

Thank you. I might drop off a card and something else. I won’t get an outfit as she has 5 others and two of them are twins not much older. I just wondered if there was something traditional as we are lucky with having a number of world food shops nearby and I can buy nearly anything!
