Professional Muslim women what do you wear to work?

Salaams , I wanted to start a thread about workwear! I’m a Muslim woman, early 40s in a fairly senior position. I usually wear trouser suits or midi dresses and a blazer. I wear hijab. I find winter easier as I can wear tights and boots with dresses but summer is a bit trickier. What do you all wear? I wear leggings with dresses sometimes but feel they look a bit unprofessional. Thoughts?
also wondering where you buy your modest work clothes from ? I like Boden, whistles and Hobbs!

I work from home so not much help for you, but hopefully someone else will come along with better advice and tips

Wasalam, I like:

John Lewis - basic workwear separates including wide leg trousers and sometimes long skirts that work well for day to day stuff.

Whistles, Jigsaw, Hobbs, Reiss, etc can have long line things but it can take a bit of searching sometimes.

Aab and Shukr for modest and slightly smarter things - I'll stick a couple of links in.

I try to support local smaller businesses over high street brands where I can, but those probably wouldn't be as accessible unless you live down the road from me!

You could also look at brands like Masai (https://www.masai.co.uk/ ) or Baukjen (https://www.baukjen.com/ ).

I prefer maxi dresses. I don’t wear blazer as I feel it accentuates my bust more. I wear leggings too but feel they’re tacky to wear under dresses. Tights I’ve never worn because my worst nightmare if they tear or are transparent.

I usually buy Primark or Sainsbury’s dresses as they are full sleeves, long and nice quality.

Thank you all for your replies! Smaller local brands is a great idea. We do have some boutiques where I live so I’ll visit. And maybe maxi dresses are better for summer although I’m 5’2 so they don’t always work!

Hijab and aybya. You can get some quite smart aybyaad these days too. I did try the uniform but even the longer shirt they had especially for Muslims was not comfortable for me so just stuck to sybyya in a different colour!

As selam aleykum.

I like matching suits at the moment from linen and other thin materials..

I buy a lot from modanisa. So they aren't local but cost comes into it sometimes.

Similar to the attached I like.

I have this one in grey and blue and live in it. I have a sleevless one too and I wear a long line cardigan with it.
