Ideas for welcoming pilgrim home from Hajj

My mum and two brothers are returning home from Hajj late on Sunday night.
Is it appropriate to say Hajj Mubarak or Hajj Mabroor?

My sister and I want to be really corny. We're so happy they're back soon and it was really very tough so we would like to be celebratory when they're back. We're going to pick them up from the airport with flowers. Do you think we should do anything else greetings-wise at the airport?

At home we will put up Hajj Mubarak bunting, I will make a cake and nibbles.

We were thinking maybe some gifts?Any ideas greatly appreciated x

My cousin is also coming back. We are going to do some bunting, a cake and perhaps a hajj frame as a keepsake. And flowers and a cake. The little children in the family are going to practice a hajj nasheed to sing to him as he comes in

When my bil and sil came back all the little neices and nephews lined up on both sides with single roses to give to them and prayed 'labbayk Allahumma labbayk... the full thing, whilst they were walking into the house
It was really cute and they were both really emotional

Some might find it OTT but I love things like that 😂

Hi. Not a Muslim but listened with interest to the reports. Weather topping mid-40s most days, it sounded brutal. Glad your relatives will be home soon, safe and well.

Enjoy 😃

@MrsSkylerWhite I think this year was one of the hottest hajj days on record!

Yes, so the report said. The man who was speaking was lucky to be in an air conditioned coach for a 12km journey but said thousands were walking. He did say, though, that officials were on hand giving out water. Still, 45 degrees!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
We bought a flower bouquet for my mum and held up cute name signs that said "Hajji Name".
At home we had cake and biryani and "Hajj Mubarak" bunting.

It was a really beautiful moment in the Arrivals section of Heathrow when all the pilgrims arrived. People's families were waiting with flower bouquets, flower garlands, balloons... It was a very celebratory and happy atmosphere. We said salaam and hajj Mubarak to people we didn't even know. Just really lovely!
