General Election July 2024 - Our votes matter

At the upcoming General Election, our voices and our votes matter.

However you decide to vote, it's really important to make sure you have valid ID that will enable you to vote. Part of the goal of the Tories in implementing the voter ID system is to make it harder for people to vote. Don't let them disenfranchise you!

Here is a link to the Govt's information page on voter ID. Through it, you can also get to pages on how to ensure you're registered to vote, how to vote if you're going to be abroad, etc.

If you know people who may need help to vote, see if there's anything you can do so their voices can be heard too.

In this election, any one person has one vote, and one vote can be all it takes to change the outcome in a constituency.

I live in a tory stronghold so it will be interesting to see if it does swing to Labour. Although I'm not counting on it.

I think it depends on your area. There's a website called the muslim vote that I have heard of. You put in your postcode and it tells you if they have endorsed any candidates but ofcourse do your own research too.
Then there's also tactical voting. In my area its just voting to get the tory candidate out who is terrible.
