Salam Everyone!

I am hosting Eid this year for the first time! As in it won’t be a drop in visit but lunch as well!

About 12 adults and 12 children!

Can anyone suggest some easy to make snacks and dishes?

I like serving cut up pineapple mixed with lime juice, salt, lots of freshly crushed black pepper and chopped fresh mint then sprinkled with pomegranate. it's so easy to make and makes a great a canapé if you skewer them or serve in small bowls

other canapés I make quite often - smoked salmon with dollop of craime frêche (mixed with lemon, salt, pepper and chopped chive and/or dill) on little crackers/bikinis

tuna kebabs - mashed potato, tuna, fresh corainder, breadcrumbs, chopped shallots, caramelised shallots (can buy them in boxes), an egg to bin, chilli flakes, salt - combine well and make into patties. coat in egg wash and breadcrumb and shallow fry

depends which way you want to go really cuisine wise as well in terms of what you make

My take on Turkish pizza: Blitz a pepper, small onion, 4 cloves of garlic and a bunch of parsley. Fry off the mixture in a pan with 500g of lamb mince and season. Add small dollop of tomato puree. Once cooled, top a 'ready rolled' pizza dough with the mixture, sprinkle grated cheese and bung it into the oven. Cut and serve as a starter with fresh sliced onion and parsley.

Chicken biryani?
Seekh kebabs?

If you have a Costco near you, they do huge desserts. And also trays of macaroni cheese and fiery dirty wedges.

I second kebabs, do you have any halal supermarkets near you that sell them frozen? so you only need to pop them in the oven and serve with a dip or chutney as part of a snack.

Also oven Wedges to go with them, kids love wedges

Pastries? Oven chicken which you can then add peppers and onions too?
I'm trying to think of things that can be prepared in advance and then just bunged in the oven so not as much to do during the day
For the kids my cousin did this one eid which went down a treat. Brought fruits and some snacks beforehand and just assembled before serving and they loved it
