I bought this album after dh showed me a clip on you tube. I think it is just beautiful and the lyrics are quite lovely. Great loud in the car.
Anybody else?

I only know one song (something about a cave?) but think they sound good. I might get the album. Also they come up first now when I google 'mum' at work (MN not on my favs there!)so they must be good!

Who are they like then? Their name puts me off (rational)

lurkingdad · 13/03/2010 07:36

I have just bought the album as well, Haven't made my mind up yet about them . I would say the singers voice reminds me of the singer from the Magic numbers and their sound is a bit like Roddy Woomble but a bit more downbeat.

yyy little lion man, quality

crumpetsolo · 13/03/2010 08:06

Mmmm, seeing them play on Sunday. REALLY excited! They're very similar to Laura Marling, Noah and the Whale, kind of acoustic folky. Little Lion Man is the loveliest song.

Love them, just booked to see them at the Eden Sessions in the summer (playing on the same bill as Doves) I can't wait!

Batteryhuman · 13/03/2010 16:48

Brilliant live band and the album is very lovely. They had a brilliant producer.

AgentProvocateur · 13/03/2010 17:15

Saw them a couple of weeks ago in Glasgow. One of the best live bands I've seen (and I only went because DS needed an adult to get into the venue with!) Fabulous.

Stumbleine · 14/03/2010 23:36

Really like them! Where did you see them crumpetsolo?

onadietcokebreak · 14/03/2010 23:39

Im so tempted to book Eden cos I want to see Doves....

crumpetsolo · 15/03/2010 18:36

Saw them last night at the Shepherds Bush Empire, they were brill! My toes are still tapping. They were really really good live, and chatty too, so much fun. I LOVE them. DH said they weren't bad either, high praise indeed.

Have only heard the singles but I find them intensely annoying. Like eating dry wholemeal bread, and nothing like as musical and complex and Laura Marling.

schneebly · 18/03/2010 22:38

I love them - the music is beautiful.

FalafelAtYourFeet · 15/04/2010 17:04

I saw Laura Marling on Monday at The Lowry and she was amazing. If you like Mumford&Sons you might be interested in one of her support acts- Boy & Bear. They were like a cross between Mumford &Sons and Fleet Foxes, very good IMO.
