I'm going to see them at Koko in May - don't know anyone else who likes them so going on my own!
Where did you see them?

skymonkey · 28/02/2010 19:16

is Koko in London? too far for me else I'd come with you. I saw them in Leeds.

Set was pretty much all of the new album, with Wait for the Summer and Tightrope as well.

we were near the front so could see the set list included an encore with 2080 and sunrise, and then they didn't play an encore, was pretty disappointed with that, but they were fantastic live, great musicians and a energetic live show!

I've heard of them. Are they good? What other bands would you compare them to?

skymonkey · 03/03/2010 17:19

erm well I think they're good
their music's a bit unclassifiable really
i know some people compare them to animal collective but i don't think they're all that similar
they're a rock/indie band i suppose that use lots of layers to their sound. the first album 'all hour cymbals' was quite 'world'y hippyish, second album is quite different, more dancey and 80s-influenced but with a lot of the songs you wouldn't know it was the same band.
i was a fan of their records, but i think they're even better live
i'd just check out some stuff on youtube if you're interested. my personal favourite tracks are 'wait for the summer', '2080', 'o.n.e' and 'madder red'

Funnily enough, I heard o-n-e on the radio this afternoon. Sounded pretty good. Very dancey. I'll look them up on YouTube.
