OK, DD1 is nearly three and loves her CD player. She has colours are brighter by "various" and catch that train by Dan Zanes. She also has a couple of old fashioned radio songs cds (I think one is called hello children everywhere) and a couple of the cheesy bontempi organ nursery rhyme CDs. Oh, and a Ramones CD and the first Spice Girls CD (but I'm fast getting annoyed at her singing "if you wanna be my lover" as it's not exactly appropriate).

Any ideas of where to go next? She listens to her music as she goes to sleep and also to dance to in the daytime.

Nutcracker? She might like ballet music

They Might be Giants albums for kids are awesome, they did the theme for Malcom in the Middle. You want the albums No, Here Come the ABC's, Here Come the 123's and Here Comes Science.

This was DD's fave when she was 2.

Check out this and this.

This is a brilliant CD. DS has it and it's Bob's version of songs such as Walking on Sunshine and 500 Miles. It's a lot of fun.

Also, he has a Disney soundtrack CD which has songs on he loves from Cars, Jungle Book etc.

In terms of real music he likes I Like to Move it Move it (Madagascar), Michael Jackson, Air's Moon Safari, The Hoosiers, Supertramp, ELO, The Automatic - Monster, Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz, Uprising by Muse.

For DS, my DH did a mix CD of Velvet Underground stuff. DS still loves it 5 years on!

Also has a mix CD of punk and new wave. I have a 6 year old who loves The Clash and goes to school singing Teenage Kicks

You can't go wrong with Queen's Greatest Hits, really. Good cartoony musical fun.

I second the They Might be Giants albums I DD loves them, she's 2.8.
We've got the versions which have DVD's and CD's. So they were good to take on holiday to save us from constant CBeebies.

dizietsma - that's my DD's favourite of them all too
This is my favourite.

I'd do some compilations of things you like too. DD loves dancing round with me to 90's indie stuff. She loves "Song 2" by Blur and has spent most of today dancing to Big Star songs.
