Not music but I've just watched the farewell scene in Terms Of endearment and blown my nose about 25 times...

The Beth Nielsen Chapman album "Sand and Water" written after her husband died of cancer, if you fancy a wallow the whole album is good for that, otherwise just "say Goodnight" or "Sand and Water" I still remember the episode of ER it was used in at least 10 years later.
