Was talking about albums earlier and said this was probably my favourite album from 2009 - cue blank stare.
It got good reviews but seems to have slipped by relatively unnoticed.
Someone else must ahve loved it?

ahhh yes

and they were AMAZING, saw them at O2 arena in December - one of very few acts who are consistently good I think yet get comparatively little notice, was 2nd time have seen them live (last time was Meds at ally pally) and would go again

they never disappoint me

I saw them at wembley in 2004 (gosh, feel very old typing that) and a couple of festivals - always a really good performance.

I think they're one of those bands that just carry on in the background making really, really good music.

I loves em I do.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw them in Nottingham before it was released.
Fantastic gig, thought the new drummer we excellent, lots of energy.
They even did a version of Nik Kershaw 'Wouldn't it be good'
I wanted to go and see them in Manchester just before xmas because they were supported by the Horrors. But, we really couldn't afford it

I saw them 11 or 12 years ago in Bristol when they had just had their first single out - there were about 20 of us in the audience and we were only there to see their support band a Belgian band called dEUS.

Very bad gig but Placebo but made me take notice of them and I still love their music.

In fact I think it was 1997 when I saw Placebo - is that possible? Were they around then?

purepurple · 10/01/2010 09:35

Yes, the first album came out in 96 I think

I got together with dh in 1996 and this was one of our first dates, becaseu he wanted to see dEUS and I had just heard of Placebo and liked them.

Good to hear both bands are still going strong!

God I haven't really listened to it tbh and I am a big Placebo fan, loved meds and have seen them a few times. I just don't seem to listen to music these days . Me and dp saw them at Leeds student union (when I was 3 months pg with dd) and it was brilliant, so much pvc in one room lol, plus it was titchy.
