i've been listening to her for about 20 years, but i'd never seen her apart from the pictures on the album covers, let alone seen her live, just watched the cambridge folk festival set and she's exactly as i imagined didn't seem to be enjoying herself very much, but that's about as i'd have expected too.

anyway, isn't it about time for the biennial "actually i like country music" admission thread? this can be it if you like, namechangers welcome

I don't mind admitting to liking Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle and lots of other country music. I like folk music too.

not sure i know indigo girls, thought i did but was mixing them up with the be good tanyas.

tbf i'm hardly a connoisseur of the genre, i like the bluesier/bluegrassier end of the spectrum, but i'd happily listen to any recommendations (esp. myspace links cos i'm lazy)

i'm more assured in my folk credentials, happy to admit to them too
