I have pretty eclectic tastes but have not heard much "new" music recently. Will listen to pretty much anything except hardcore dance stuff and "gangsta" rap.

Tell me your current fav music/songs.

I thank you

The Feeling
The Ting Tings
Alphabeat
Scouting For Girls

are what I've been listening to most recently. I am obviously in 80s throwback mode.

Alison Krauss is country and really fantastic (not usually a country fan).

MGMT's Orracular Spectacular is good.
So is Adele's 19
I just dug Gwen Steffani's LoveAngelMusicBaby off my shelf and have bene listening to that for a few days. I'd forgotten how good it is.
For a classic, you can't beat the Stone Roses first album.

I have Stone Roses first album and know of these "Ting Tings" of which Janeite speaks but the rest I am unaware of so many thanks ladies.

I am generally a bit of a retro girl and love female singer/songwriters

but also love a bit of rock and lots of soully Motown stuff.

The most recent albums I have loved include Kings of Leon and Killers.

But I am also partial to stuff like Billie Holliday,Ella Fitzgerald and the like.

Keep em coming ladies/gents.

Thanks

Gabriella Cilme (sp?) "Sweet About Me" is fab - not heard the album though. I'm also (rather embarrassed to admit it) really liking Lily Allen's new song.

pillsthrillsandbellyaches · 16/02/2009 22:12

cant beat stone roses second album too. hugely underrated IMHO.

the dandy warhols are pretty cool.

but i know what you mean OP. since i turned 30 i've been on a fruitless quest for my new favourite band. it was so easy in my 20's, i loved REM and the charlatans.

but now?? am coming to the conclusion that nothing sounds as good as when you're younger. (though i quite like the theme tune to The Koala Brothers...)
