What songs does your 7 year old boy like.

A colleague who is a dance teacher is running a pop star party in a few weeks for a group of boys and girls.

We have plenty of ideas for girls songs but are struggling a bit for the boys, especially as we don't want anything with inappropriate lyrics etc.

We want something the boys will really relate to.

how about nelie the elephant by the toy dolls? all the little boys i know love jumping around to it and it's very easy to join in at the woooaaaaah! bit.

Well my ds who is 6 loves the following:

The Final Countdown by Europe
Since you've been gone by Rainbow

Basically anything with air guitar in

mine likes favourite things from sound of music

My 7 year old likes anything by the Kaiser Cheifs - especially Ruby Ruby.
He also likes 'Jump around' by the House of Pain and any other songs you can jump about to!

Oh and also Queen..especially 'another one bites the dust' (has watched too much Gladiators I think!).

this would still probably be his favourite, though it's very "last year"

He likes all the stuff his mates like as well as my old skool favs.

I'm not sure he'd go for Nellie the Elephant , but he'd probably like the other stuff.

My ds likes the tin tins - that's not my name
and the one about 'I can ride my bike with no handle bars' but I forgot who sings it. He als likes all Abba songs since watching mama mia.

Oh yeah, my ds loves Ruby Ruby too!

Some fantastic ideas there. Why didn't I think of Queen, my 5 year old ds loves We will Rock You (dh is vocal coaching a school production)

Soulja Boy I think is perhaps a bit risky but Amarillo and some of the others great.

I'm feeling a bot old Ias I have no idea what Monster or Ruby Ruby is.
