I need some new inspiration!

OP posts:
OneLieIn · 14/01/2009 16:29

Work by Kelly Rowland
The Rocky Theme - marvellous
American idiot - Green Day
I like to move it move it - from Madagascar

....and if my iTunes would open up I could tell you a whole lot more...but these are my faves. The best bits of my running playlists are the little bits of dialogue in between from various films or Little Britain - they always make me smile.

lostinnappies · 14/01/2009 16:31

whip it - devo
hot n cold - katy perry
the boy does nothing - aleesha dixon
eye of the tiger
fit but you know it - the streets
mickey

basically anything that has a good beat

lostinnappies · 14/01/2009 16:33

never forget - take that
fat bottomed girls - queen (this one always makes me run that little bit harder !!)
breakthru - Queen

Queen are good to run to actually

harleyd · 14/01/2009 16:33

deffo the eye of the tiger

i usually dont listen to a lot of dance stuff, but i like running to some of the older ministry of sound stuff. or basement jaxx or fatboy slim, keeps my pace going much better than stuff i would usually listen to

OneLieIn · 15/01/2009 10:29

Right, I now FINALLY have my iTunes open.

Shout to the Top - Style Council
That's not my name - tingtings (this is one of my faces)
9 - 5 Dolly Parton ( a funky remix - good to start off to)
Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Daft Punk
I like the way you move - Bodyrockers

Thanks, LostinNappies, have added take that and fat bottomed girls!!

Work by Kelly Rowland is always my starter - because it says "this aint gonna be easy"

Dialogue from Lock, Stock - "Oh you f'ing bstrd...type stuff", Little Britain "I am a lady", Dialogue from the Sopranos and from Pulp Fiction - these are all really short (sub 1 minute) but very very good and funny.

Can you share yours with me? I am always keen to try new stuff.... anything to dull the pain.

bruxeur · 15/01/2009 10:37

Apollo 440 - Stop the Rock, Ain't talking bout Dub, Lost in Space theme

Prodigy - anything really

Beastie Boys - Body Movin, Sabotage, Intergalactic, etc

See also - old skool 90s dance.

TheGoddessBlossom · 18/01/2009 14:10

"Encore une fois" and "Mysterious Times" by Sash. Try it. Fabulous. Pump pump pump, up that hill. c'mon girl, you can do it, bosh bosh bosh.

Twink · 18/01/2009 14:40

Albums on my running MP3 player include:

Beat Surrender - The Jam
Jubilee - Sex Pistols (got me a half marathon PB!)
5150 - Van Halen
Riot Act - Pearl Jam
Nevermind - Nirvana
From Here to Eternity - The Clash

Tommy · 18/01/2009 14:45

agree with Queen - "Don't stop me now" being my fave as it is exactly the right speed for me

blametheparents · 18/01/2009 15:00

I like some Kaiser Chief tracks to run to, I Predict a Riot is good, and others.
Also some tracks off the Mika album are surprisingly good for running to.

Must download 'Don't Stop me now', can imagine that would be good.

Must look at recommendations here, few tunes def help with the running when it is getting tough.

idontlikesundays · 18/01/2009 15:18

agree - anything by the prodigy.

soyabean · 18/01/2009 16:45

I have these tracks for running although I am getting a bit bored of them and recently have just put on albums I like as long as reasonably loud/fast (Arcade Fire today).
Sheena is a punk rocker and others by the Ramones
A forest, Boys dont cry and pretty much anything by Cure
Foundations Kate nash
Dont look back into the sun Libertines
Hey ya OUtkast
Price of gasoline, helicopter Bloc party
Disorder and others Joy Division
Farewell ride and others by Beck

Zutons
Franz ferdinand
XTC
Foals

OrmIrian · 18/01/2009 16:54

Green Day - American Idiot.

Clash - as above
Blackeyed Peas - Elephunk
Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
Handels' Fireworks, and Water Music
Mozart - bits and pieces
Schubert 9th Symphony

LoveMyLapTop · 18/01/2009 16:59

Agree with Kaiser Ciefs - they beat matches my (slow but regular) stride perfectly
Queen
Gorillaz
Franz Ferdinand

fishie · 18/01/2009 17:03

i've got
led zep
ac/dc
zappa
smashing pumpkins

kaiser chiefs are good but the way they keep going 'wooah' is dreadfully annoying.

millenniumfalcon · 18/01/2009 17:08
