What is it on about - "are we human or are we dancers" - huh? Beautiful song, just annoying me that it doesn't seem to make sense. Anyone able to help me on this??

i do love it - dont think it's meant to be clear

CarofromWton · 25/11/2008 21:16

Can't help much, except to say that it's not 'dancers', it's 'denser' - my DJ husband corrected me yesterday when I was caterwalling along to it in the kitchen. Not worth arguing with him when it comes to music! Before you ask, no I still don't know what it means.

Agree with you - it's a great CHOOOON! I'm really getting too old to be saying stuff like this.

I heard on the radio that it was a reference to something written by Hunter S Thompson.

track 6 on the album is amazing.

Walt3rMego · 25/11/2008 21:18

"The line itself is a reference to quote from Hunter S. Thompson who said that America was raising a generation of dancers"

It is Dancer not Denser.... AFAIK

Walt3rMego · 25/11/2008 21:19

clicky

NotanOtter · 25/11/2008 21:20

denser???

Well done with Hunter S thompson info - impressive

CarofromWton · 25/11/2008 21:22

I stand corrected then on behalf of DH. Just wait till I tell him ...

LadyBuntingofCupcake · 25/11/2008 21:25

Oh I was wondering about this, while clomping about the kitchen to the new album this afternoon I couldn't figure out why he kept missing the 's' off 'dancers'... you have cleared this up for me, I thank you.

GreenEggsAndSpam · 26/11/2008 12:00

Erm thanks!
I looked at the link by W3M, and some of the comments make a bit of sense - about people being able to find their own way, rather than dancing along to what others say. However, shouldn't it be "are we human, or are we dancerS".
Still confused and stll annoyed by it when I want to enjoy it! I really enjoy the lyrics till it gets to that line.
