A band I saw on Later With Jules Holland - can you help me work out who they were?

The singer was quite striking. She was tall, young, slim. I think she might have been oriental looking but I could have that wrong. She was dressed quite in quite a kookie, funky way. She wore shiny lycra (purple?) leggings and heels and she did a weird stampy marching dance the whole time she was singing.

That's all I can remember.
