Can I join?

I have a 6 year old DS3 who is obsessed with James Bond and I recently introduced him to that track - he loves it!

Mirror in the Bathroom is great but Stand Down Margaret was their finest hour, I feel.

The Specials by the Specials was the best 2Tone album IMHO - Concrete Jungle, You're Wondering Now etc etc - all just great.
Still makes me bop around the place whenever I hear it.

BigGitDad · 05/09/2008 22:19

2shoes · 05/09/2008 22:33

'One Step Beyond' was the first album I bought, BGD.

Hassled: We always have to play that album on long car trips.

MarsLady · 05/09/2008 22:37

Oh the memories. I loved loved loved this song. Used to dance and dance to this with my cousins and sisters

SixSpotBurnet · 05/09/2008 22:37

Oh I loved Mirror in the Bathroom.

And Ghost Town.

And I like The Selector a lot too - On My Radio, anyone?

I also (and this is very uncool) had a lot of time for UB40's first album .

SlartyBartFast · 05/09/2008 22:38

and this too

2shoes · 05/09/2008 22:38

ghost town always reminds me of leatherhead

OP posts:
SixSpotBurnet · 05/09/2008 22:39

Wasn't it Stand Down Margaret, not Stand Up Margaret?

SlartyBartFast · 05/09/2008 22:39

see my earlier link sixspot

MarsLady · 05/09/2008 22:39

Rudy! A message to you Rudy!

SixSpotBurnet · 05/09/2008 22:40

I thought Ghost Town was about all those places that had riots? Did they have riots in Leatherhead (where is Leatherhead)?

SixSpotBurnet · 05/09/2008 22:41

Slarty - you beat me to it!

I think The Selector also did a very harrowing song about rape, called The Boiler - although that was probably a bit later?

Hassled · 05/09/2008 22:42

Ghost Town was about Coventry, where the band came from. I'd sort of prefer it to have been about Leatherhead, though

unknownrebelbang · 05/09/2008 22:45

I used to sing it about Stoke.

SlartyBartFast · 05/09/2008 22:46

chipmunk are go anyone?

daftpunk · 05/09/2008 22:46

the best

2shoes · 05/09/2008 22:46

I know hassled. but at the time it came out everyone was saying that leatherhead had turned into a ghost town, due to the new shopping centre.
