Probably been done to death before but it's good fun

So for all those moments of 'Belezbub has a devil for a sideboard' I'll start with

Alanis Morrisette - You Oughta Know

'And I'm here to remind you of that cross eyed bear that you sent to me'

Our Reception class last year would sing a line from a song we did in singing assembly about a magic travel machine as 'Get on board, take a chicken' (instead of 'take a ticket'). Was v. funny!

MsHighwater · 25/08/2008 22:17

Will Young "Think I'd better deep fry now" instead of "leave right now".

nooonit · 25/08/2008 22:27

Thought "The Las" song was "Desous Girl" for years till I was told it was "There she goes". God knows why - must have been a combination of doing A level French and too much Diamond White / Mad-dog at the time!

BlueberryBeret · 25/08/2008 22:31

Not desperately funny but I have just discovered that Sum 41 "In too deep" say "instead of going under" and not I'm scared of going under like I thought.

RedHead81 · 25/08/2008 22:32

while singing bob marley's - is this love, i was happily singing along and my DH thought i sang... "...we'll be together, with a roof rack over our head..." not "roof right over our head"! lol

Mamazon · 25/08/2008 22:32

Rachel stevens - don't negotiate with love.

I always heard it as "don't eat goat shit for love"

LittlePushka · 25/08/2008 22:39

Hey James Cagney,..you still got it wrong It is "eyes like the desert"

OMD Enola Gay..." Collishuss novel and we are coming home" (should be Conditions normal..) What the hell was I thinking? What is a collishuss novel???

My MIL heard the KD Lang song 'constant craving' as 'God bless gravy'

Good thread

LittlePeanut · 25/08/2008 22:56

Out of "I will Survive": when I was little I thought the words were "weren't you the one that tried to hurt me with your bike?" (instead of "goodbye").

My DH used to sing along at school:

"Dance then, whoever you may be, I am the Lord of the Dance Settee".

???

Adam Ant "Stand in the river, the money or your life"

jamescagney · 26/08/2008 12:20

LittlePushka, thanks, what can I do about my cloth ears?
I will write to Madonna and suggest that eyes like pesetas is more poetic, maybe. eyes like the desert? what all gritty and dry?

TequilaMockinBird · 26/08/2008 12:26

Estelle - "Take me to Majorca, I'd like to see L.A."

NorkyButNice · 26/08/2008 12:32

I had my first real sex dream
Bought it at the five and dime
Played it till my fingers bled
It was the summer of 69

That Bryan Adams - dirty!

CatIsSleepy · 26/08/2008 12:38

not really misheard lyrics...
but to dd, David Bowie's Rebel Rebel is... Gobble Gobble
(a Christmas remix perhaps...)

and she sings the first few lines of Mamma Mia pretty well but then 'How can I resist ya' becomes 'go go sister'

fatzak · 26/08/2008 12:38

The lift goes up where we belong. That famous song from an Officer and a Gentleman

purpleduck · 26/08/2008 13:03

I am crying!!!
Blueberry, I know who Sum41 are..

Goodasgold, that is so funny - KD Lang is a veggie

My Ds used to sing:
"The tide is High, I'm going to mow the lawn.."

and instead of "I'm Miss Dynamitee", it used to be "Little black kitty.."

TequilaMockinBird · 26/08/2008 13:35

DD sings to "Apple-bottom jeans, boots with the fur, the whole club was looking at her"

"Apple pie and cheese, boots with the fur, the whole club was looking at her"

Some dancey type song thats in the charts at the moment, I actually had to look the lyrics up as I couldnt believe anybody would start a song with 'Apple pie and cheese'

LadySanders · 26/08/2008 13:37

prince, she wore a raspberry beret, i always thought it was "she wore a red spherical dress". though granted that does seem a bit weird now.

grouchomarx · 26/08/2008 13:39

Anyone heard Hot Chocolate's I believe in Malcolm? (where you from, you sexy thing?)

Iklboo · 26/08/2008 13:43

DH - "i know there's budgies too" (I know this much is true)

Me: Abba - "when I called you last night from tesco" (when I called you last night from Glasgow)

DS "it's on my knee, it's on my knee" ("that's not my name" - Ting Tings). Bless he's only 2 and already he's mishearing!
