Advice needed re collecting from V Festival Stafford pleeeeeeease

I have to pick up DS2 & friend on Monday morning & get back up here (near Burnley) by 3pm, so I need to be able to avoid bottlenecks & logjams if poss.

Can anyone who has been before or lives near the site please suggest somewhere they could get themselves to relatively easily by about 11am on the Monday morning?

I've looked at the map & I can see there are a few villages around but I'm not sure how far they'll be able to walk after a weekend of riotous partying & little or no sleep

It's gonna be a nightmare Wendy. All along the A5 gets pretty bad I believe. I know we were stuck in traffic backed up to the M6 when coming back from holidays a couple of years ago. The only answer probably is to get there really early so you're going against the flow. There are buses to Stafford i think - would it be easier to collect from there?

ds is going tomorrow afternoon, after he's picked up his AS results - he has an early access ticket. Weather forcast isn't brill either is it?

No, weather forecast is not good although Friday shouldn't be too bad when my lot go down & get their tents up [fingers crossed]

I've looked at the map & was kind of hoping to avoid the A5 by leaving the M6 further north & cutting through the lanes...probably hopelessly optimistic DD1 told me there are shuttle buses to Stafford centre but I was kind of hoping to avoid there too.

I think I may be late for work!
