Looking for a song to walk back down the aisle to after getting married...

Obviously want something happy/uplifting to make everyone smile and ready to party - not too concerned about the lyrics (within reason)

Suggestions please ?

[ oh happy day]]

PortBlacksandResident · 13/06/2008 16:23

try again

WenchConnection · 13/06/2008 16:26

I'm stunned a smashing pumpkins song could be uplifting/happy!

The Liquidator - Harry J Allstars

No lyrics, and may not be your cup of tea, but always puts a smile on my face

TillyScoutsmum · 13/06/2008 17:38

Right - shortlist

Jackie Wilson - Higher & Higher

Deelite - Groove is in the heart (very nostalgic not sure what my Nan would think though )

Wanndies - You and Me

Queen - Don't Stop me Now

Curtis Mayfield - Move on Up

Vote NOW !!!!!

Luckywinner - yours sounds good but I'm not sure I know it ? Is it called "Have you tried cranberry juice" ? Will try a search on Youtube

move on up..brilliant song!

TillyScoutsmum · 13/06/2008 18:32

Oooh hatrick you bugger - I love that song (and True Romance was probably one of the first films we saw together). That may be a contender to walk in to (although I thought I'd sorted that one )

Would welcome your input. Have posted on a wedding forum and have received suggestions including Shania Twain and Mariah Carey. Save Me !!!

my vote would go to wannadies or jackie wilson

PinkChick · 13/06/2008 20:05

happy people - r kelly

PinkChick · 13/06/2008 20:06

oops sorry should read op, cant imagine you jigging down aisle to that

TillyScoutsmum · 13/06/2008 20:37

Thanks

I reckon its between Move on Up and Higher and Higher then (they're both "quick" starts so ideal for walking up the aisle to)

What about "Perfect Lovesong" by Divine Comedy? Lovely melody and just the right sentiments for walking down the aisle!

asicsgirl · 14/06/2008 19:02

dp and i aren't married but if we did the deed i would want this - cheesy i know but i just love it

MrsJamin · 15/06/2008 10:06

Semi-Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind

MrsJamin · 15/06/2008 10:07

Oops just read the first post! Perhaps the lyrics aren't so great "I'm not listening when you say goodbye"! How about Beautiful Day by U2?

MrsJamin · 15/06/2008 10:14

Ooh I've definitely got it - As by Stevie Wonder - it's so unbelievably positive and upbeat about love - I don't think anyone could have a problem with it as it's such a classic

Teuch · 15/06/2008 11:18

ah bugger...I was coming on to say Jackie Wilson, Higher & Higher...

I have no original thoughts, ever.

Elvis, Burning Love was the first dance after the 'First Dance' IYKWIM at ours and got everyone on the floor.
