Nbg · 10/06/2008 13:11

Oooh this is hard.

Probably

No Angel - Dido
Jamiroquai, any of his, so best of
Frank - Amy W

Other 2 I'll have to think about.

MrsJamin · 10/06/2008 13:16

You're not allowed best of's! Or compliations for that matter. NBG I do like the fact that you went for Frank rather than Back in Black - are you a teensy bit smug like me that you were into Amy W before the rest of the world was?

VictorianSqualor · 10/06/2008 13:18

It'll have to be the self-titled stone roses then.

Ooh yes I am smug

I do like Back to Black but there are more songs on Frank that I like.

Nbg · 10/06/2008 13:47

2 more

James Morisson's debut album but the name escapes me and Kaiser Chiefs latest, Yours Truly Angry Mob.

mrsbabookaloo · 10/06/2008 13:48

Oh! We DO have a music topic! Sorry, I'm a bit slow...

Off the top of my head:

Portishead: Dummy
Sinead O'Connor: The Lion and the Cobra
The Pogues: Rum, Sodomy and the Lash
Morcheeba: ... what is it called?
Lee Morgan: Cornbread

What a random list!

I really wanted to put the soundtrack to West Side Story, but I think I would be thrown out of the topic!

nickytwotimes · 10/06/2008 13:52
  1. Gold Mother - James
  2. Design For Life - Manics
  3. Stevie Wonder album with Superstitious' on it, can't remember name. Colourbox?
  4. Definitely Maybe - Oasis
  5. The Black Parade -MCR

At least it's eclectic, lol!

nickytwotimes · 10/06/2008 13:54

MrsJamin, are you Nick Hornby, lol?

niceglasses · 10/06/2008 13:57

Randomly thinking of most played:

Stone Roses/Stone Roses

Funeral/Arcade Fire

Nick Drake/Five Leaves Left

Joni Mitchell/Ladies of the Canyon

Neil Young/After the Gold Rush

MrsJamin · 10/06/2008 14:24

No I'm not Nick Hornby but I do wonder about '5 best covers', '5 best soundtracks', '5 best pop songs' etc, I could probably start a million music threads! But I won't.
NBG you lost me on Kaiser Chiefs, I can't stand them. MrsBabookaloo - If we did best musical I think I'd include West Side Story too . Sorry nickytwotimes "design for life" is a song - Everything Must Go is the album and that would get into my top ten

Oops!

DaDaDa · 10/06/2008 14:58

The Beatles - Revolver
Prefab Sprout - Steve McQueen
Go Betweens - 16 Lovers Lane
Orange Juice - You Can't Hide Your Love Forever
Aztec Camera - High Land Hard Rain

Bubbling under:

Scott Walker - Scott II
Nick Drake - Bryter Layter
Pale Fountains - Pacific Street
Roddy Frame - Surf
Echo and The Bunnymen - Ocean Rain.

If anyone who knows me in RL is reading this I've almost certainly outed myself

niceglasses · 10/06/2008 14:59

A Prefab Sprout one would be there for me - but there were 2 good ones weren't there? Steve McQueen and ooo what was t'other?

DaDaDa · 10/06/2008 15:01

Swoon and Jordan:The Comeback were both great in differing ways. Protest Songs was none too shabby either.

niceglasses · 10/06/2008 15:03

Swoon. I think I'd go for Swoon.

Raahh · 11/06/2008 12:29

i keep trying to write a list, but it is way too hard...

My all time favourite album is Violator by Depeche Mode - not very trendy to like, I know, but it was the sound track to my first year at uni...

beyond that there are just too many!!

mrsbabookaloo · 11/06/2008 20:30

Thanks for reminding me about Stone Roses and Nick Drake. Will put on list to go on ipod!

turquoise · 11/06/2008 20:46

Bryan Ferry - The Bride Stripped Bare
Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge over Troubled Water
Prince - Purple Rain
George Michael - Faith
David Bowie - HunkyDory

But there's at least another ten all time favourites, those are just the first springing to mind.

mumof2teenboys · 12/06/2008 12:36

By the Way - RCHP
Black Album - Metallica
The Holy Bible - Manics
