Actualy me too - on my MP3 I have both tracks + such others as AC/DS, Doris Day, Greenday, Jason Donovan, Buzzcocks, Take That, Sex Pistols, barry Manilow, Whitesnake, Pink Floyd, Frank Sinatra... shall I go on?????

Everytime I hear "rock the casbah" it reminds me of the millenium song Will Smith did. I liked that but don't like the original i'm afraid (could be more age, only 23)

Here it comes, another year, new millenium, new millenium.

helenelisabeth · 06/06/2008 22:54

WHizz that is the true sign of your age - you don't give a shit about your music taste - when i was a teenager I would have been ashamed to admitting I still listened to anything that was not cool anymore!

Love Pink Floyd's Time. Another one on my Itunes.

It's just amazing that about 100 songs, "In The Air Tonight" included, were banned during the 1991 Gulf War and the re-release of a song featuring the line "Drop your bombs between the minarets" sneaked under the radar!

helenelisabeth · 06/06/2008 23:13

I know Unquietdad but Phil Collins obviously didn't vote Thatcher. [grin\

Soooo brilliant! I can't hear that piano intro without my scramble-for-the-dancefloor reflex kicking in.

SNoraWotzThat · 06/06/2008 23:21

I loved the Clash, I'm in 80's heaven tonight.

helenelisabeth · 06/06/2008 23:25

Have to say - don't particularly like any of The Clash's other songs

Love this song - was reminded of it during Britain's Got Talent when it was used by a troupe of belly dancers called 'The Urban Gyspies'

Marina · 07/06/2008 00:35

Agreed - alongside stuff like Ghost Town and (We don't need this) Fascist Groove Thang

schneebly · 07/06/2008 00:36

Ooh Marina! This town (aah aah) is comin' like a ghost town.

I was only tiny when this stuff came out but love it anyhoo!
