Keyboard for 7yr old beginner

Hi
Please could anyone recommend an inexpensive but nice quality keyboard for a child. My 7yr old daughter has just started lessons at school and has been recommended to practice a bit at home but haven't got a clue what to get her. Something between too basic and too sophisticated. Happy to purchase secondhand. Thank you. Feel free to DM.

What’s your budget? If it’s piano lessons she’s having she’ll grow out of a keyboard very quickly, or just not practice and quit.

you need 88 touch sensitive keys and pedals as the bare minimum. if you’re searching use digital piano rather than keyboard.

Casio and Yamaha both do beginner ones for less than £100 which are fine. The main thing is to ensure it has the proper amount of keys, and to stick to a decent brand (like these) rather than Rockjam or the weird amazon brands.

Thanks for your replies. Yes up to £100 absolute max is budget but am thinking of secondhand as she's v fickle and in case it's not pursued. It's just the keyboard, not piano lessons she's having in the school.

Could you recommend any particular Casio model. My knowledge is honestly non existent. Thank you

Can you ask the teacher for any specifications it needs? For example the number of keys? I don't really know much more than that, it's just the info I found when I was looking a few years ago. Unfortunately we did get a Rockjam one which is why I said don't Grin they are not proper keyboards, they are more toys.

Yes I'll try to find out more. I have asked the teacher via the school for a recommendation a couple of times but she's proving very elusive and never gets back to me hence the post here. Thanks for the tip of avoiding Rockjam as I have seen them and wouldn't have known to avoid!
