I've bought my 10 year old a CD player... what albums am I buying?!

For Christmas my 10 year old DS is having a new CD player. We're kinda low on tech with the kids. No smart phones. He does have an Alexa, so can ask for songs. However, I feel this is the perfect time to expand his musical repertoire!
So, what albums would you give your 10 year old? Ideally nothing particulalry explicit, maybe the odd swear word but I'm not wanting anything too vulgar just yet 🤣.

I got DS some Daft Punk, Gorillaz, rock/punk rock compilations… Found it very hard to get censored versions of current music, though.

Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Pulp, Oasis, Blur, Alanis Morisette, Spice Girls, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Prince, Queen, Elvis, Stones, The Clash, Ramones, Police, Bowie, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim...and that's just 80s-00s stuff.

Iron Maiden, Magnum, Gloryhammer, Fields of the Nephilim and Marillion.

Go to Poundland and buy 10 albums you loved as a teenager. That'll mean more to your child than just some arbitrary purchase- inheritance tracks are precious!

Greatest hits of the above plus Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses, Michael Jackson, Avril Lavigne, Kylie, Genesis, Green Day, Beatles. I would go to a couple of charity shops and stock up!

My 9yo likes exploring the NOW compilations on her CD Player.

I would go to your local charity shops and have a good old mooch to see what takes your fancy. You could get him quite a nice stash with not too much money.
