I'll be playing it all weekend now she owns it 🐍.

Looking forward to the vault tracks!

Oh thank god. I tried talking to my husband and, as you can imagine, he was not interested in my 15 minute presentation on this subject.

Obviously, brilliant for her but I'm quite gutted about no reputation TV. Although technically the original is Taylor's Version so if she re-released the original I'm sure we'd all be here for it.

I've just been listening to Reputation in the shower to celebrate.

i believe that Look What You Made Me Do TV was featured in the Handmaid’s Tale (an episode not broadcast in the UK yet)

Yes it was and a lot of the online hardcore Swifties were convinced Taylor was secretly in the trailer episode, and that Rep TV would be announced at the AMA’s.

Think of those who do not have such an opportunity and had to sell their song rights for a pittance.

Parts of her statement today

“All I’ve ever wanted was the opportunity to work hard enough to be able to one day purchase my music outright with no strings attached, no partnerships, with full autonomy.”

“I’m extremely heartened by the conversations this saga has reignited within my industry among artists and fans. Every time a new artist tells me they negotiated to own their master recordings in their record contract because of this fight, I’m reminded of how important it was for all of this to happen. Thank you for being curious about something that used to be thought of as too industry-centric for broad discussion. You’ll never know how much it means to me that you cared. Every single bit of it counted and ended us up here”

lol at your husband not being interested in your presentation @IKnowAristotle 😂😂 love the username too🫶 so happy for Taylor that she’s finally got what she’s wanted for so long!

I shed a tear at her letter. I would happily listen to a 15 minute lecture on this subject! Maybe I'll make DH listen to my own lecture on it during our long run tomorrow 🤣

I know there are multiple podcasts to listen to on the subject but I love the Sentimental Garbage pod episodes on TS, especially the Taffy Brodesser-Akner episode. I too can't wait for Taylor's take on the perimenopause. Sharing her NY Times article below:

Oh so glad I came across this thread! I have no one to talk to about it!! Mainly because I'm currently on a long weekend break with dh and he does not care!! My daughter called me yesterday practically frothing about it!!

I am so pleased for taylor. The insta letter had me welling up.

As a previous poster said, so many are unable to do what she has and that is awful, this will definitely teach many artists a lesson in contract signing.

What a lovely ending. Now we wait on the vault tracks!

Mumtowonderfuldaughter · 31/05/2025 12:46

My dd is a singer/ songwriter and honestly, the industry is brutal. Her songs have had millions of streams worldwide and she gets pennies in royalties. A proportion of her work she sells at a few hundred £ per song and loses all rights. She works in hospitality to make ends meet and does the occasional wedding or party. There must be hundreds of people like her working hard and being exploited.

Yes, this >> "this will definitely teach many artists a lesson in contract signing.". (In a good way).

I was happily adding Rep tracks to my workout playlist this morning. I should probably make a new username now too. I do still fancy some RepTV merch though.
