I was in a cafe today and heard "one of us is crying....". What a fantastic song. I feel oddly compelled to go and buy an Abba record cd and jig around the sitting to it with dds.

also 'More than This' also Roxy Music.

now why don't I have any of their records?!

also agree with 'perfect day' but that's way too cool to be an 'ashamed to admit'!

Scampmum · 16/05/2008 22:09

turn back the clock = classic. are we all about 30?

came on here to post more than words

scuse one-handed typing

Scampmum · 16/05/2008 22:11

clark datchler lead singer johnny hates jazz!

moondog · 16/05/2008 22:11

Harpo, yes!
'More than this' is a stupendous song.

HonorMatopoeia · 16/05/2008 22:11

32 Scampmum and the Now albums are around that I'd think! Climie Fisher - Love changes everything, another great!

moondog · 16/05/2008 22:11

Get 'Flesh and Blood' album.
'Love is the drug' also good.

Scampmum · 16/05/2008 22:12

loads of George Michael - all of Faith and Listen without Prejudice - esp One More Try.

Desperado by the Eagles!

DumbledoresGirl · 16/05/2008 22:12

Do they know its Christmas?

I am now going into hiding as that song is and always was the biggest crap ever recorded.

But it has memories for me.

Janni · 16/05/2008 22:14

I was 14. The opening line is 'I feel like a kid with a teenage crush, on a schoolday'...It ALWAYS makes me tingle when I hear it. Was it Andrew Gold??

That sense of hope and excitement you have when you're 14!!

harpomarx · 16/05/2008 22:16

think I will download on itunes very soon Moondog!

(ps was it you who was getting into Songs in the Key of... I seem to remember a music thread with you on it. If so, are you converted?)

Scampmum · 16/05/2008 22:16

everyone else now posting actual good music... except Climie Fisher

I wanted these boots

ACIIIID (yep, I'm 12 and have cake decorations blu-tacked to my ears 'cos Mum won't let me get them pierced)

jingleyjen · 16/05/2008 22:16

wessexgirl · 16/05/2008 22:17

Ooooh, Andrew Gold 'Never Let Her Step Away'. That gives me a frisson too!

heymammy · 16/05/2008 22:17

Too Good To Be Forgotten by erm...well...any ideas anyone?

Reminds me of a caravAn holiday in Lossiemouth aged about 7

Scampmum · 16/05/2008 22:17

what? band aid is not actually a good song?

moondog · 16/05/2008 22:17

Yes Harpo!
Have been listening away and love it. I realise I know lots of the songs but not in context of an album. Had always been very early Stevie fan-Higher ground, Living for the city, High heeled sneakers and so on.

WowOoo · 16/05/2008 22:21

Memories, sweet memories....
That Def leppard song 'is this love?'
phil collins ('separate lives'? cringe..back seat of cimema. It was in a film, I think)
Roxy Music always fab, but no special memories..have always listened to them.
ooh, would love to be 14 again for a day!

WowOoo · 16/05/2008 22:22

We have 'songs in the key of..' on NOW. HOW FREAKY!!!!!!

harpomarx · 16/05/2008 22:24

such a good album moondog

just trying to decide my favourite track

not sure if it's 'Love's in need of Love today' or 'knocks me off my feet', ooh too many good tracks.

going to treat myself to some roxy music soon!

petunia · 16/05/2008 22:35

Too Good To Be Forgotten - Amazulu.

Anything on Brothers in Arms- Dire Straits.

Scampmum · 16/05/2008 22:36

fire and rain by James Taylor

marlene on the wall by suzanne vega

harpomarx · 16/05/2008 22:40

aah, Petunia

I just love it when someone comes up with a song I had completely forgotten!

but confused as to how the same person could like that (I like too) and Dire Straits (not like. a lot)

petunia · 16/05/2008 23:06

harpomarx- just had a wide taste in music. Everything from Abba ("Thank you for the Music" is still a favourite), the Carpenters (Goodbye to Love- that really is !), Madonna (Like a Virgin and True Blue) and Heart (Alone, These Dreams) have spent time in my record collection! All still have a strong "tingle factor" for me!

Janni · 16/05/2008 23:11

Wessexgirl - thank you! It's such a great song isn't it.

Also, any that you ever managed to get a slow dance to - Three Times a Lady springs to mind.

harpomarx · 16/05/2008 23:13

never got abba Petunia, was subjected to it from a very early age by my weird neighbour whose bedroom window was about 10mm away from mine!
