I was in a cafe today and heard "one of us is crying....". What a fantastic song. I feel oddly compelled to go and buy an Abba record cd and jig around the sitting to it with dds.

Moondog, he tried to.
Does this constitute a repetitive traumatic childhood experience, do you think?

Hassled · 16/05/2008 21:52

Don't Give Up On Us Baby by David Soul (of Starsky and Hutch fame .

HonorMatopoeia · 16/05/2008 21:54

PsychoMum - Danny Wilson did Mary's prayer - classic!
Also, Aztec Camera - what was that song called?

NoBiggy · 16/05/2008 21:54

My DDs have been sent the They Might Be Giants CD called "No" twice. They are very keen on it.

Mid to late 70s my dad did extensive building work on our house when he got in from work, and had local radio on. I think hearing that when I'd gone to bed has done something to my brain because it positively itches when I hear some songs from back then. Chicago, If You Leave Me Now is one of those. Not that I like it particularly, just makes my head go funny!

Psychomum5 · 16/05/2008 21:55

Does anyone else remember 'I'd Rather Jack' by a couple of one hit wonders called 'The Reynolds girls'?

wessexgirl · 16/05/2008 21:57

Aztec Camera - 'Somewhere in my Heart'? (Pop triv geek)

HonorMatopoeia · 16/05/2008 21:59

That was it! I could only think of 'summer in the city'!

wessexgirl · 16/05/2008 22:01

Love that song, Honor . Less said about 'I'd Rather Jack' the better though .

HonorMatopoeia · 16/05/2008 22:02

Very true...I'll walk away from it and not even mention that I still remember most of the words!

wheresthehamster · 16/05/2008 22:02

Daydream Believer by the Monkees used to make my heart thud with memories. First crush etc.
Now I can't get 'When your lawn is a farce, weeds a right pain in the grass' out of my head. Grr

mamabutters · 16/05/2008 22:03

OMG ,the reynolds girls!
"I'd rather jack, than Fleetwood Mac"???!
About the same time I had a pair of shoes with clocks on the front that I somehow persuaded my mum to order me from the back of Just 17...oh, the horror....

WestCountryLass · 16/05/2008 22:03

I had a trip down memory lane when Madonnas Borderline came on the radio today

bigmouthstrikesagain · 16/05/2008 22:03

'Bright eyes' from the film Watership Down - it was my first single as a child and it makes me well up...

Also - So long Marianne by Leonard Cohen (one of my Dads fav singers)

harpomarx · 16/05/2008 22:04

mamabutters · 16/05/2008 22:04

Psychomum5 · 16/05/2008 22:05

was a line in it that me and my friends used to change to 'wet dreams, wet dreams'....

mamabutters · 16/05/2008 22:06

HonorMatopoeia · 16/05/2008 22:06
