Hi there-
Anyone with experience of this, or in the business:
i am considering getting a piano (standard upright Yamaha piano) moved from a house in Essex to my new house in Kent. How much might this cost? It’s a distance of roughly 90 miles…. Never used professional piano movers before, so just curious as to what others have paid
thanks

We paid about £400 a couple of years ago for a similar distance, make sure you go with someone who has specialist experience and insurance for dealing with musical instruments

I can’t help with this specific question you have but I do want to warn you because an expensive cooker got damaged during a house move I had and insurance wouldn’t cover it because it was too expensive and would only replace it with a cheaper second hand one up to a maximum of £400 even though the cooker was more than double that and they were the ones that damaged it so be careful and read their policies thoroughly

Thanks yes, I’d get specialist piano movers who have experience and cover for any problems. I thought it might be about £400, yes!
