Piano recommendation to help RSI

Hi,

I wondered if anybody might know which upright piano is good for avoiding RSI?

We have a recently rebuilt upright Bechstein 4 from about 1896, and it has a lovely sound but everybody in the family gets hand pain when playing it.

Two of us have kept playing while holding down the soft pedal all the time to make it lighter but the third has had to give up entirly. The two of us who are continuing to play are having to ration playing time to prevent pain.

We have been looking at improving playing technique with a teacher but it didn't help.

We also paid £1k to get the piano action lightened and that didn't help either.

I wondered if anybody might know whether a different make of piano might help?

Thanks!

A digital would have a lighter touch. Roland tend to be lighter on the whole than Yamaha.
