The other day, I got a Prince compilation CD. I always liked 'I feel for you' (Chaka Khan), 'Kiss' (Tom Jones), Nothing compares 2 u' (Sinead O'Connor) and 'Why don't you call me?' (Alicia Keys). Never knew they were originally by Prince. Quite Frankly the covers were better

I prefer the scissor sisters version of 'comfortably numb' to the Pink Floyd version.
I also like Faith no more's version of 'Easy' as opposed to the commodores or Boys II men, Westlife etc!

Re The Man Who Sold the World - Bowie went on tour with Nine Inch Nails in the nineties after Nirvana's version came out, and got pissed off with all the youngsters who thought the old man was hip for covering Nirvana when he played his own song He did like their version though.

Didn't Elvis want "I will always love you" and Dolly didn't want to give away the publishing rights ?
