A safe place thread to share anything related to the music of Ms Swift.

Edinburgh had a hard 1030 curfew from the stadium

YeahWhateverGoAway · 14/06/2024 10:34

Aaaaah! I've got swept up in it!

I missed out on tickets, but as I put a reminder to a group of friends on about presale one snagged four and let me have two to go with her! My DD (11) isn't a huge fan, but has said the FOMO of not going and missing the concert of the decade would be crazy. it feels like I've been waiting forever for Wembley to come around.

And now I seem to have, at 41, ordered loads of stuff to make friendship bracelets all weekend!

EmeraldRoulette · 25/06/2024 22:59

Has everyone split off to different threads?

How is our lovely @WrenNatsworthy ?

Just to say I've really been enjoying picking up all the information around the concerts. I thought the mashup on night three of Wembley was an absolute joy. And was it night two, I was so pleased to hear her singing "Someday.... I'll be singing this song at Wembley" ...yay!

The Evening Standard had a reimagined Tube map with Taylor songs on it and my sister managed to pick me up a copy so will have that next time I see her.

The new album really kind of expands with extra listening. The music on "so high school" is actually amazing. Like the production and the details of it.

I wasn't hugely keen on "who's afraid" on first listen - but the way it's been staged and with a full understanding of the lyrics, I now absolutely love it!

beguilingeyes · 26/06/2024 07:52

I just want one ticket and am now pinning all my hopes on the August dates.
Come on Twickets...

SummaLuvin · 26/06/2024 08:13

I was majorly impressed by London N1 songs - Hits Different x Death by a Thousand Cuts and The Black Dog x Come Back... Be Here x Maroon - I adore all those. My biggest hope for my surprise songs was anything from Debut, particularly Marys Song, I love yeehaw Taylor and wanted to see every Era represented. However, as a Liverpool N1 girlie I was delighted that I got some more Speak Now with Mine (and I Can See You which is fine but Mine is 🤩) and then Cornelia Street x Maroon, Cornelia Street live from Paris is a top 3 all time Taylor track so I was delighted!!

Agree with you @EmeraldRoulette that the new album really comes into it's own with more listening, I think it's just too long to absorb and take in at once, and that meant for me anything I didn't connect with straight away has been over looked for ages. WAOLOM was an instant love from me, but in the past weeks I have finally started really listening to The Black Dog, Cassandra, and Guilty As Sin having written them off as mid before.

Did you ever get a code @beguilingeyes? I know a bunch of people who had never got one ended up coming off the waitlist in the days before the Liverpool/London/Cardiff and were able to get last minute tickets that had been production hold, so hope is not lost.

Hello lovely

No I've not gone anywhere. I'm really enjoying seeing pics from all my friends from their various shows.
Quietly planning how we are going to get me there safely in August.

@SummaLuvin I got a code for Paris, and then couldn't use it.
Still upset that she's dropped The 1, but anything will do really.

EmeraldRoulette · 26/06/2024 09:12

Hello @WrenNatsworthy Good to see you. Hope it's not too much of a logistical nuisance, the planning.

Hello all 🫶 All the mashups are amazing really.

I wonder what it's like at the concert in terms of hearing her over people screaming.

My fave songs from TTPD are still But Daddy I Love Him and So High School. The latter really makes me feel...So High School 😂

I was doing the washing up last night and had to stop in the middle of You Are in Love...partly because it brings it all back, but mostly because it's just such a beautiful.

HighHeelsOnCobblestones · 26/06/2024 11:29

I wonder what it's like at the concert in terms of hearing her over people screaming.

I bought some Loop Experience ear plugs. I wanted to avoid coming out the stadium with my ears ringing like I did at Rep tour but, I found not only did they stop that, I could hear her better too. They reduced the crowd noise, definitely use them again. DH had some too and was also impressed.

I did the same. I've never had issues with ringing ears after concerts but wanted to be prepared after what I had seen people saying. I wore them most of the time (some songs I just wanted full volume immersion) and they dulled the crowd noise really well, if your a terrible singer like me it takes a bit to get used to hearing yourself more clearly though!!!

Outside of that even though the crowd were singing along there was no issue hearing Taylor over it, both in person and in my videos, and with earplugs or without. I had seen a handful of videos and comments in advance of people with neighbours literally screeching along so loud it overtakes, and I was slightly worried, but nothing like that around me.

toastofthetown · 26/06/2024 12:56

I also had Loop Experiences. I took the mutes out of mine during Paramore because I found it too much noise dampening, and it was amazing how much it dampened the crowd noise. I took them out of the standing ovation and the different was massive! I didn’t have anyone screeching around me though, like I’ve seen online so I don’t know how they’d work for that.

redheadnamedabigale · 12/07/2024 19:11

My best mate got me into Taylor when we met in uni, her song Fifteen is what inspired my username (as another redhead named Abigale!)

EmeraldRoulette · 12/07/2024 20:09

I have never been impressed with those types of earplugs but maybe they’ve changed.

glad people are enjoying it.

HighHeelsOnCobblestones · 24/07/2024 16:31

If you want a folklore cardigan and didn't get one first time around, get to yourself to the online merch store now!

They've just been re-released.

TheGigoloAunt · 28/07/2024 19:26

It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you all that our beautiful @WrenNatsworthy , the OP of this thread, has sadly passed away.

Sing loud on the other side, m' dear. Sing loud.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 28/07/2024 19:30

She never got to go....

Oh that is so sad

My thoughts to her loved ones Flowers

YeahWhateverGoAway · 28/07/2024 19:41

Oh no. I'm so sorry to hear that. And I'm so gutted she didn't get to make it to see Taylor. :(

sending love and light to her loved ones.

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 28/07/2024 21:01

It is so sad that @WrenNatsworthy has died,

She shared on the cancer thread that she had one or two goals that she really hoped to see / achieve.

Two were regarding her son - him to finish his GCS|E's, and for him to go to his prom. Both of which she was able to say happened / took place on the thread..

I was so so hoping she would get to Taylor Swift next month.

FartingAgainstThunder · 28/07/2024 22:15

I'm so very sad to hear about Wren.

FartingAgainstThunder · 28/07/2024 22:17

Thanks for letting us know @TheGigoloAunt
Did you know her irl?

TheGigoloAunt · 28/07/2024 23:15

@FartingAgainstThunder Nope, but I wish I had. She always had such sage advice, and a wonderful sense of humour. I am so sorry for her family, and her many friends.

FartingAgainstThunder · 28/07/2024 23:23

It's just so sad to know she didn't get to see the eras tour when she was so looking forward to it.
I thought of her often and told irl friends about her and this thread.

I only popped on this thread to check on how she was doing 😞
I really hope her passing was as peaceful and pain free as it possibly could be.

pinkhousesarebest · 02/08/2024 14:36

That is one of the saddest things I have ever read. I am so sorry she never got to go. I saw her in June and it was one of the most uplifting experiences of my life.

EmeraldRoulette · 02/08/2024 22:08

I also used to check on Wren on the other threads. So sorry to hear this. I think she was avoiding watching any concert footage to have a fresh experience when she arrived there. I hope that she got to enjoy some of it on a small screen.

Her determination was something else.

Wren, I will always think of you when I watch a tiny desk concert. And thank you for bringing MN Swifties together in this space, appreciating the music. 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾

sending much love to her family and friends.
