hi to newbies😍
waves madly @WrenNatsworthy
so what are your thoughts? The other threads are full of gossip which I hate.
I still haven’t listened to the whole thing.
I found it completely overwhelming in its sadness. I think the feeling is shifting as I get used to the songs. But if anyone can tell me what the more cheerful tracks are, or at least something with an upbeat melody, that would be much appreciated 😂
I see in her introduction she talks about how you can be free of your pain if you write stuff down.
Perhaps not free of it - but you know what I mean.
Around Xmas I was thinking about writing some (good) memoir stuff and actually I find it too painful even to review good things sometimes.
So I think perhaps the lyrics of this album are hard for me because I don’t really enjoy listening to what might come out in someone’s therapy session but some people love that.
I am wondering if I want to listen to the second album, I have barely made it through the first and I’m quite confused about all the additions. I do really like the title track and I love Fortnight and BDILH.
Initially I found the high notes on “who’s afraid” to be a bit jarring, but I’m getting used to it I guess.
I am much more of a 1989 person then I am a Folklore person.
I did realise that this album was never going to be my favourite.
But it almost feels like a task to sit down and listen to…is it 31 songs?
The night I did listen to part of it, I was up till about 3.30 in the morning because it had such a massive emotional impact. It warrants a diary session which is a bit much.
really looking forward to the tour starting again. Where is my favourite blue Midnights outfit, I hope it reappears this time 😂
interested to hear how the intro will be amended to include TTPD, which lines she will use.
