Other than Only You (Yazoo) and When I'm Sixty Four, are there any other songs that readily lend themselves to an a capella arrangement ? I'm sure there must be lots but I can't think of any more, except The Longest Time by Billy Joel.

Thankyou.

Check out recordings by groups like the King's Singers, Gents of St John's, Swingle Singers for inspiration.

King's Singers and the Swingles. A real blast from the past! The Swingle Singers had a style all of their own. A blend of scat and a capella.

I once heard an a capella version of Smells Like Teen Spirit. It was really good.

Watch the Pitch Perfect films. Maybe not the third because it crosses the line between harmlessly silly fun and ABSOLUTE NONSENSE CRAP. But the films do a great job pf showing pretty much ANYTHING can be acapella-d.

Swingles and King's Singers are both still going strong!

Also check out The Real Group and Pentatonix for inspiration.

But there are many a capella arrangements of popular songs. Which voice parts do you want it for? SATB?

Try Pentatonix and Peter Hollens
