Favorite guilty pleasure songs to belt out when you're alone...

Inspired by a thread earlier -

Tell me your favorite "guilty pleasure" song you like sing/dance/dramatically gesture along with when no ones about.

One of mine is Heart - Alone. Hairbrush as a microphone while screeching along complete with dramatic gestures 👌

Bonus points if you sing along with another poster in your comment for the banter/forun karaoke 🎤 🤣

Careless Whisper - sax makes everything sexy. I even do the sax bits with some weird "do doo do doo's", very badly but I do it 🤣🤣

Currently doing a night feed with the 13 week old (unusual for her, usually loves her night time sleep too much and sleeps through) and singing a quiet rendition of Only You. Used to be obsessed with a cover version on YouTube that I heard on a covid documentary. I always loved the song, my dad used to sing it while he was doing the dishes (he's no longer with us) and that cover hit hard due to me working in hospital all through the pandemic and being pregnant at the time with my son while I was watching it. Getting sleepy milk drunk smiles off her, I think she's just humouring me 🤣

such a beautiful cover...

@Seryse it is amazing how easily music can transport you to a time , place and memory instantly.

It truly is. That song, as beautiful as it is, always feels so bittersweet. If I shut my eyes I can hear and picture my dad in the kitchen while it's on, or I can feel my son kicking, he used to go nuts when I played it, even at 16 months he still smiles and calms when it's on and sways to it. Music is magical and can transform your mood.

I agree, you could take away TV, cinema, theatre, books and it wouldn't bother me ( I dont own a TV) but you can not take away music , it's uplifting, consoling, brings back memories, helps cement new memories, brings all types of people together .

I thought you meant the Flying Pickets version for a moment there. 😅

Dixie Chicks - Travelling Soldier

Girl Crush - Little Big Town

Lawyers in Love - Jackson Browne

The Last Resort - Eagles

Sunshine on Leith - Proclaimers

I have way more. My Labrador must know all of these kitchen songs off by heart by now too.....

TheaBrandt · 12/09/2023 11:40

I present a smiling and sympathetic face to clients but if one is a dick I enjoy going home and belting out Gayle ABCDE F you!

isthismylifenow · 12/09/2023 11:41

Omg how could I forget

Silver Springs....

Time cast a spell on you.......

TheaBrandt · 12/09/2023 11:41

When my then 13 year old was having to deal with little witches at school we both took comfort in Taylor Swifts Mean at high volume!

TheaBrandt · 12/09/2023 11:42

My current one is Olivia Rodrigo’s Vampire - it’s fab - she’s so angry at her older man boyfriend and let’s rip!

Total eclipse of the heart- bonnie Tyler.

This!! Every time my DS says 'Turn around' in any context, I launch into it. He thought it was hilarious when he was little. Not so much now at 16!

TigerRag · 12/09/2023 11:44

That would be 90% of the music I'm into at the moment. (All Saints, B Witched, Spice Girls, etc)

isthismylifenow · 12/09/2023 11:44

Ds and I both gave ourselves an earworm yesterday with:

Wow, you can really dance....

😂

Ihateboris · 12/09/2023 11:45

Total Eclipse of the Heart- Bonnie Tyler 😆

isthismylifenow · 12/09/2023 11:48

I think I will share it, because I am kind like that 😁
