CDs - get rid or keep?

Moved house, box of CDs still unpacked.. CD player gave up the ghost.. keep them all and buy a new CD player, or get rid?

Not keen to buy a new CD player - nowhere I want to put it, nowhere to put CDs - I do, however, listen to music all the time whether on my phone, from internet etc, when I'm out on the road, or in different rooms, so I wouldn't use a static CD player.

It's not as if the music I have is not readily available on Spotify or Youtube if I want to listen to it.. I just want to reclaim the physical space!

Anyone else decided to part company with their CD collection?

Keep! I got rid of most of mine....and now my 14 year old DD buys cds from HMV. The very same CDs I chucked away 10 years ago.

It's like she's gone back to 1994.

I got rid. I have missed maybe one CD in the last five years.

@FelineUK but you could sell them to other people's kids!

DP has started ripping all his to a hard drive with a view to getting rid of them, so I may follow suit. I wouldn't want to pay for ad free Spotify etc. every month.

We have family spotify and we ripped all ours to a hard drive years ago but kept them just in case but last year I got rid of most and kept maybe 10 that aren't on Spotify.

My 6 year old loves CDs, she's got about 40. Saves us having an Alexa in the house, which I absolutely refuse to do and she gets to listen to music.

Keep! Nothing beats having a physical copy
