Rediscovered The Beautiful South

I loved them from Song for Whoever days. Ex and I had all the album's and often used to duet to them.

They slowly fell off the playlist in the 2000s as other musicians took their place.

I rediscovered them last month and have fallen in love with them again.

I can't get over some of the contrasting lyrics though.

E.g. A Little Time Vs Don't Marry Her

Two very contrasting sides of a story.

Plus A Little Time is a man telling his "The Script", oft quoted on here. Made me chuckle.

Have another listen to them if you haven't for a while.

Any of you recently rediscovered any old classic artists you loved over 20 years ago?

A few of their songs came up on my spotify playlist and I have also been listening to their music again.

Also Crowded House and Deacon Blue. I've been having a great sing a long for one in the kitchen most evenings.

One of my favourite all time bands. Paul Heaton and jacqui Abbott play gigs regularly and include favourites from the beautiful south, the housemartins as well as newer material.

I've been to see them at least 5 times in the last 7/8 years including a triple rescheduled event last October
