We've been told that DS (14) needs braces. He plays clarinet (he's between grades 5 and 6) and is really enjoying it at the moment, so I'm nervous about throwing a spanner in the works. The orthodontist has told us that fixed braces would give the best result for his teeth, but that Invisalign would be very nearly as good. I'm likely to end up paying for the treatment regardless (as the NHS waiting list is so long), so there isn't really any cost implication either way. Can anyone advise? My instinct is that Invisalign would be more comfortable to play with, but I'm no musician, so would really appreciate any advice or experience.
